Family Arrivals and Thanksgiving Meal Preparation
November 24-26, 2025
This year we had to collect Darla and the three granddaughters from different places and at different times. As of Nov 23 we had collected Jeff and Darla but with the girls and Luke we still had four family members to go. Jeff got to spend some time with Marty Dye, and they did part of our shopping. Marty will get the turkey and prepare it as he has done for some years.
With Darla here, she and Jeff did more shopping and other activities on Monday, the 24th.
 | For the evening meal Darla and Jeff prepared red beans and rice in their pressure cooker and Marty joined us for the evening meal.

Elyse at LSU Baton Rouge had perhaps the most complicated arrangement to make. Early on, her professor had scheduled a Laboratory on Wednesday, but apparently he listened to his students. But she still had a lab scheduled for Tuesday and was scheduled to fly in to Atlanta about 9:30 pm. Then things changed and she was able to arrange to leave earlier on Tuesday and fly in about mid-afternoon. She took the Marta Transit train one station north of the Airport and Jeff and Darla picked her up at the College Park Station. We were pleased to get her in and settled for Tuesday night.
| We enjoyed having Elyse with us for breakfast on Wednesday morning, Nov 26. Marty joined us as well. |
|
 | It didn't take long to get Elyse involved in the cooking. Brenda enjoyed this time of fellowship with her. |
| Elyse had her own design for some chocolate cookie. We enjoyed them with our Thanksgiving dinner. | |
 | Then Elyse and Marty joined us for another fine supper prepared by Darla and Jeff. |
Ashleigh is still involved in her intensive sea training in Panama City, Florida. She drove from there to reach in the evening of the 26th.
Jordan and Luke had a longer drive from New Orleans and arrived later in the evening. But by bedtime on the evening before Thanksgiving, we had all three granddaughters and Luke in place and could look forward to tomorrow with thanksgiving for Thanksgiving.
