Thanksgiving Meal Preparation

November 27, 2025

The breakfast table was different this morning with the arrival of Ashleigh from Panama City and Jordan and Luke from New Orleans in the late evening yesterday. We were delighted to now have all of Jeff's family with us now. Marty joined us for breakfast.

Darla and Jeff join us as Ashleigh looks on their breakfast preparation.

At last we get to see all of Jeff's family together! Jeff on Fri, Dqrla on Sun, Elyse on Tues, and Ashleigh, Jordan, and Luke on Wednesday! There is already evidence of food preparation.

Elyse, Jordan, and Ashleigh take a brief photo-op on this sunlit Thanksgiving morning before plunging in to the food-preparation tasks.

About this time Mark arrives with Punkin the dog.

Mark is delighted to see the girls, and vice-versa, but Punkin is mainly interested in her little squeaky monkey toy, which she chases down upon entering our house.

Just after noon, Jeff arrives from Marty's with the cooked turkey. For some years, Marty has procured and cooked the Thanksgiving turkey for us. He cooks and seasons the turkey well so we are very appreciative.

Marty arrives with his big cutting board and they begin to set up for Ashleigh to carve the turkey. That has become part of our tradition, and it seems appropriate for the Medical School graduate with some surgical experience to cut up the turkey.

Jeff and Marty stand by as Ashleigh carves the turkey and places it on the big turkey platter. In the background Luke is preparing a fine big bowl of masked potatoes.

Jordan and Elyse join the spectators of Ashleigh's turkey carving. And Punkin the dog is also very interested in the process.

The turkey is very juicy and they have to drain it onto th big platter. Finally the luxurious turkey platter is ready to take to the table.

Finally the Thanksgiving dining room table is ready for the invitation of the family to the table!
