Thanksgiving Dinner

At about 20 after 12 noon, we gathered the family at the table with thankful and prayerful hearts for all the great blessings the Lord has provided. Rod gave a brief reflection on our blessings and then a prayer of thanksgiving for our family and for the food and fellowship we were privileged to enjoy.

Grateful for safe travel by all the routes our family took to arrive, we were also very excited about the way all our family members worked together to get the meal and the setting in place.

Starting with Brenda at front left and moving clockwise, we had Jeff and Darla, then Mark, then Marty Dye at the end of the table. Then Ashleigh Nave, Jordan and Luke Zell, and then Elyse Nave.

Another of our traditions is to take a family picture by the fireplace after Thanksgiving dinner. The difference this time was the inclusion of Punkin the dog. In this picture the front row is all Nave: Mark, Rod, Brenda, Jeff, Darla, Elyse. The back row is Ashleigh Nave and Jordan and Luke Zell.

Friday was the bittersweet time when we had to say goodbye to all the family members we had enjoyed through Thanksgiving day since all of them were headed south today.

Uncle Mark made it out about 9:30 and was joyfully greeted by Jordan, Ashleigh, and Elyse

Of course Mark brought along the dog Punkin, which again made it her priority the finding of her monkey toy,

So this was a time of family joy even though we were approaching our goodbyes.

Jeff was joined at breakfast by Ashleigh and Jordan.

Darla maybe got a little breakfast as Jordan, Luke, Ashleigh and Elyse visited and packed.

It was great to see Luke, Jordan,Elyse and Ashleigh enjoy being together

I guess Jeff or Darla took these to include Granddad Rod, and the second was added to include Punkin.

The family gathers for Granddad to have a pryer for safe travel and for final time for fellowship.

Friendly Punkin is a part of this fellowship. Jeff, Darla, and Elyse are the first to depart for Pearl River.

Jordan says goodbye to Grandma Brenda and she and Luke depart for New Orleans.

We got to visit a few more hours with Ashleigh because her return journey to Panama City, Florida was the shortest of the return trips. We were certainly grateful and blessed by these few days to visit with our family.
