RNA

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is directly involved in the manufacture of proteins in living cells by a process called "translation". The manufacture of the RNA itself is directed by the DNA in the cell which provides a pattern for the production of messenger RNA by "transcription".

The DNA's genetic information is transcribed to messenger RNA, which carries it to all parts of the cell for the assembly of proteins and the direction of other cell processes. RNA is made in many forms, but the three most important are called messenger RNA (mRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA) and ribosomal RNA (rRNA),
